Sync all your contacts and calendar details
This is the final step. Using the back-up service you chose, download all your stored contact and calendar details to your new iPhone 4.
And that's it - you're ready to enjoy your iPhone.
Adding your email accounts
For many popular accounts (like Google, Yahoo! and AOL), iPhone enters most of the settings for you. When setting up the account, you can choose which account services you want to use with your iPhone. The services you turn on are synced automatically over the air without having to connect your iPhone to your computer.
To set up an account:
- In Settings, tap “Mail, Contacts, and Calendars”
- Tap Add Account, and then tap your email provider. If your provider doesn’t appear in the list, choose “other”
- Enter your name, then complete email address, password and a description. The description can be whatever you like
- Tap the items you want to use on your iPhone such as contacts, notes and calendars (the available items depend upon the email provider).
Viewing the User Guide on iPhone
You can read the iPhone User Guide on your iPhone by tapping the iPhone User Guide bookmark in Safari, or by installing the free iBooks app and downloading the user guide from the iBookstore.
To view the user guide in Safari:
- Tap the “View all bookmarks” button
- then tap the iPhone User Guide bookmark
- To add an icon for the user guide to your homescreen, tap the “Add to bookmarks” button
- then tap “Add to Home Screen.” To read the user guide in a different language, tap “Change Language” at the bottom of the screen on the main contents page.
To view the user guide in iBooks:
- If you haven’t installed iBooks, open App Store, search for “iBooks” and tap it in the results list. Tap Free and then tap Install.
- Open iBooks and tap Store.
- Search for “iPhone User” and tap the user guide in the results list.
- Tap Free and then tap Get Book.
