What you can achieve

You’ll spend one-to-two years in a variety of different learning environments, working alongside experts and gaining real-life experience. You’ll have the chance to achieve a full qualification in your field – from a diploma, to an Advanced Apprenticeship, to a Level 4 Apprenticeship leading to Foundation Degree – and a permanent role with us.

You’ll shadow experts in a wide range of roles within your speciality. But you won’t just be observing – you’ll get hands on with some of the most advanced communications and network technology in the world. Whether it’s within the safe learning environment of our training centres or out in the field, you’ll work alongside the very best and learn first-hand how we fulfil our customers’ needs.

Apprenticeship Level 2 and 3

You’ll join our technology team, supporting our network operations across the UK. You’ll develop your functional skills and gain a valuable insight into how we keep customers confidently connected in one of the most innovative working environments in the industry.

You’ll be given all the training you need by a team of experts at dedicated facilities and earn nationally recognised qualifications. What you’ll need to bring is a passion for the connected world and the technology of the future.

Your first year

This is your foundation year. You’ll be introduced to the full breadth of our technology fields, including field engineering, product design, IT, signalling and networks, setting you up to focus on the specific elements of your chosen field.

    Day One

    We want you to feel at home from the start. When you first arrive you will be greeted by our Future Talent team who will share their experiences of life at Vodafone.

    Your first week

    You’ll begin a week long induction designed to help you really get to know us. You’ll get an overview of everything you need to know about your development programme. You’ll get to explore the campus and meet key people across the organisation – and we’ll have some fun along the way.

Buddy Up

You’ll be paired with a buddy who’s there to help you along the way. They’ll answer your questions, introduce you to the people you need to know and show you the places you need to be.

    Every week

    Thanks to the variety of training you’ll receive, no two weeks on the programme will be the same. Most of your training will be at our technical training centre in Birmingham, where we have the facilities to train on a wide range of equipment.

    Every four to six weeks

    Every four to six weeks you’ll spend time with a dedicated assessor or the Future Talent team. You’ll also get additional study time to watch presentations delivered by video conference and participate in discussions and collaboration sessions with other students.

    The last six months

    You’ll continue to build upon your acquired knowledge and skills while gaining more in-depth experience on how we operate in a technology enabled world.

Towards the end of your placement we’ll give you the support you need to help find your perfect place for you within the business. Whether this is in one of the teams you trained with or a new avenue within Vodafone, we’ll give you the best opportunities to help you and your career grow.

    Video or phone interview

    If we think you might be a suitable match, we’ll either give you a call or invite you to take part in a video interview, depending on the role you’ve applied for. It’s at this point we really want to get to know you, and see how we could work together.

    Face-to-face interview

    The next stage is meeting you in person. Depending on the role, you’ll either be invited to take part in a face-to-face interview or an assessment centre which could involve a presentation or other role-specific tests.

    The offer

    After your face-to-face interview we’ll get back to you with feedback and, if you’re successful, start the process of welcoming you to Vodafone. Please note – we’ll need to run some pre-employment screening before you join us, and all offers are subject to passing these checks.
