iPhone XR vs Galaxy S7 edge

Which one is best for you?

Launched in early 2016, S7 edge was the first in the Galaxy series to feature the curved, edge-to-edge OLED screen. Though there have been a few generations of Galaxy phones since then, it remains a popular model with those who like a home button with a built in fingerprint sensor.

iPhone XR is a much more recent phone, and also features an edge-to-edge screen – Apple’s Liquid Retina LCD display. The bezels have all but disappeared, with just a ‘notch’ at the top to house the front camera and sophisticated depth sensors. There’s no home button – but thanks to facial recognition, you can unlock your phone with just a glance.

As you’d expect, iPhone XR has a more powerful chip – Apple’s A12 Bionic. Powerful graphics and neural processors enable it to run the latest augmented reality apps and games, and it expands the capabilities of the phone in other ways too. For example, the iPhone XR main camera uses real-time processing to create professional-looking depth-of-field effects – something not previously possible with a single-lens camera.

If you’re looking for a simple smart phone that looks great and has a great screen for browsing the web, watching videos and more, Galaxy S7 edge is a good choice. But if you want to take your mobile photography to the next level, or explore the world of augmented reality, iPhone XR might be a better choice.
