iPhone 6s vs iPhone 7

Which one is best for you?

At first glance iPhone 7 is pretty similar in appearance to iPhone 6s but there’s one very significant difference. With iPhone 7, Apple boldly ditched the traditional headphone jack – recommending instead that users switch to wireless headphones or AirPods.

Take a look at the specs, though, and you’ll notice there have been some pretty major upgrades. The improved camera, with a 6 element lens, captures a wider range of colours than iPhone 6s. A new ‘wide colour’ screen is designed to show off the results of the improved camera, and a new ‘Taptic Engine’ brings improvements to the 3D touch functionality, too.

One of the biggest advances for iPhone 7, though, is the A10 chip. Apple claim that the A10, its first quad core chip, is 40% faster than the A9 (featured in iPhone 6s). The A10 also has two high-performance cores and two lower powered cores for everyday tasks – so it can perform simple functions without draining as much battery. As a result, Apple claim that iPhone 7 boasts up to 2 hours’ longer battery life than iPhone 6s.

While traditionalists may find the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack hard to get used to, iPhone 7 has plenty to excite Apple fans and represents a clear step up from iPhone 6s in pretty much every metric.
