P20 lite vs Galaxy S8
Which phone is best for you?
2017 was the year in which Samsung incorporated its amazing curved screen technology into its flagship models, with the Galaxy S8 sporting a superb 5.8-inch edge-to-edge Infinity Display. However, the P20 lite is no slouch in the screen department either, with a similarly sized 5.8-inch Full HD+ display.
The Samsung’s excellent 12-megapixel camera is backed up by some seriously good AI software, allowing for superb photos, even in low light, but the P20 lite is typical of the Huawei stable, with a stunning 16+2-megapixel dual camera array producing snaps a pro would be proud of.
Otherwise, the specs of these two excellent Android phones are remarkably similar. 4GB of RAM provides a smooth gaming and streaming experience in both, and a solid 3000 mAh battery ensures that neither phone is likely to give up on you until well into the evening.
The S8 is more powerful, as you would expect from a top end handset, but the P20 lite will handle most tasks without complaint, and represents fantastic value for a mid-range smartphone.
