iPhone 8 Plus vs iPhone 6s

A big difference

iPhone 8 Plus has a lot of advantages over iPhone 6s. As well as being a larger format model it benefits from two years’ of development by Apple – so not surprisingly it has quite a few extra features. Besides its larger size, iPhone 8 Plus can be distinguished by the new glass back. This means it can support a new wireless charging system – compatible the Qi wireless charging points – a really useful function that we’re likely to take for granted in years to come. iPhone 8 Plus also boasts not one but two 12 megapixel cameras. These perform much better in low light and cleverly work together to offer 2X optical zoom, as well as some neat special effects. The new Portrait Lighting mode also lets you create stunning selfies.

When it comes to processor speed, iPhone 8 Plus is clearly ahead with its 6-core A11 Bionic processor. Not only will you enjoy a smoother gaming experience but its improved efficiency over the A9 featured in iPhone 6s means you’ll get longer between charges – up to 21 hours talk time as opposed to 14 hours for iPhone 6s. Added to that, iPhone 8 Plus now has the ability to charge more quickly – up to 50% in 30 minutes.

On the plus side

iPhone 6s is still a great iPhone with plenty going for it – including 3D touch and fingerprint recognition – but if you want the luxury of a large, True Tone display, wireless charging, dual cameras and more, iPhone 8 Plus more than delivers.
