Diversity in the workforce

Access to the biggest pool of talent possible

Diversity in the workforce

We want the most talented professionals, whoever they are and wherever they’re from. A diverse workforce not only contributes to creative thinking, it better represents the diversity of our own customers and ensures we have a broad and varied pool of future leaders.

We employ and promote people based on skill and merit, not on the basis of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or political belief. These principles apply to way we treat visitors, clients, customers and suppliers, too.

We work with diversity organisations and specialist recruitment agencies to help us attract talented women as well as people from other nationalities and cultures. In our most recent annual employee survey, we scored 79 out of 100 for supporting employees in an environment that welcomes diversity and ensures an inclusive culture where everyone is given the chance to succeed. The proportion of women on the Vodafone UK senior leadership team stands at 37.5%.

We recruited 88 graduates in September 2014. We always aim to hire equal numbers of male and female graduates, this year we recruited 45 women and 43 men.
