The benefits of full fibre broadband

Speed

Speeds up to 910 Mbps** for fast downloading, gaming and streaming.

Reliability

Full fibre, the UK’s most reliable broadband technology.

Future-proof

The latest technology, built to handle all your devices, and those still to come.

What is full fibre broadband?

Most standard broadband services use Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) which sends data down a fast fibre-optic cable to the cabinet in your street, and then a much slower service carries that data into your home through copper cables.

When you choose one of our full fibre plans, a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) connection is used instead. A fibre-optic cable is installed directly in your home, so superfast broadband speeds can be achieved – up to 910 Mbps.**

Stream all your favourites

With full fibre, the whole family can stream their favourite movies on multiple devices. Plus, add Vodafone Xtra to your plan and get Apple TV 4K on us, so you can watch in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos sound. Access content from your favourite apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, straight out of the box.

Do what you love, faster

Sharing bandwidth with the rest of the family? Vodafone Full Fibre offers up to 25x faster speeds than our standard broadband plans, keeping everything working at full speed - even in the busiest of homes. Our full fibre plans provide speeds of up to 100 Mbps, 500 Mbps, and 910 Mbps.**

Game on!

Immerse yourself in new worlds and adventures as you enjoy the latest in HD gaming. Full fibre enables faster downloads and response times; perfect for a seamless gaming experience.

Want more games? Add Vodafone Xtra to any plan and get access to explore Apple Arcade's variety of games.

Frequently asked questions

Full fibre broadband (also known as FTTP which stands for ‘Fibre to the Premises’) can provide super-fast speeds. When you choose FTTP broadband, a fibre-optic cable is installed from the street cabinet right into your home, giving you better broadband speeds.

With full fibre broadband, you can experience faster internet download speeds of up to 910 Mbps*. Full fibre also benefits from faster upload speeds, which is perfect if you video call, game, or stream frequently. Depending on your connection, you can also achieve up to 910 Mbps* upload speeds.

*910 Mbps speed is achieved by a wired connection.

FTTC stands for ‘Fibre to the Cabinet’, also referred to as standard fibre broadband. It uses older copper cables to carry internet to your home. It’s the most readily available to homes in the UK but is limited to speeds of up to 80 Mbps.

If you have an FTTC connection, broadband is carried down fibre-optic cables from your supplier to the cabinet at the end of your street. From there, copper cables carry the signal to your home.

With FTTP (also known as full fibre broadband and stands for ‘Fibre to the Premises’), the copper cable is replaced with a fibre-optic cable. This means the signal only passes along the fast fibre-optic cable, allowing for faster upload and download speeds.

You can test your current internet speed on our speed test page

It’s easy to switch to Vodafone and we have a dedicated page to explain the process. Learn about switching broadband provider

You’re future proofing your home. Full fibre broadband makes it easier to upgrade if you want to at a later date, meaning faster speeds when you need them. Another benefit of FTTP is reliability; it’s more reliable than the older copper cables, meaning it’s less susceptible to faults and interference from things like bad weather.

At Vodafone, we have a range of affordable full fibre plans to suit your budget with free installation. As the UK’s largest provider of full fibre, we’re in more homes than anyone else and continuing to roll out across the country. So, if full fibre isn’t available in your area yet, we’re working on it. Discover full fibre plans

You can check with your broadband provider whether you have a FTTP or FTTC connection.

If you’re already a Vodafone Broadband customer and have a FTTP connection, your plan name will include the words ‘full fibre’, for example, ‘Full Fibre 500’. If you have a FTTC connection, you will have a Fibre 1 or Fibre 2 plan.

You can upgrade to FTTP if your area has rolled out full fibre. If you’re a new customer, you can check your coverage

If you’re an existing customer, we have a dedicated page where you can learn more and upgrade your broadband

If you can’t upgrade currently, we can notify you when full fibre is available in your area. Register your interest
