Izzy Wheels are a Dublin-based brand that creates colourful wheel covers for wheelchairs. The idea for the business began as a college project in 2016 when Ailbhe was in her final year in The National College of Art and Design in Dublin. Ailbhe’s younger sister, Izzy, was born with spina bifida and is paralyzed from her waist down. She noticed that her sister's wheelchair was always the first thing that people noticed about her, but it wasn't a reflection of her bright and bubbly personality. Together the sisters created a range of stylish wheel covers for Izzy’s chair that expressed her individuality and playful fashion.
