When would you use Wi-Fi calling?

There are plenty of times where having poor or no mobile signal can hinder your workers or your business. Here are some examples where Wi-Fi Calling will give your employees the connection they need.

    Employees who spend part or all of their time working from home, where they have poor network coverage at their home location but a good Wi-Fi connection.

  • Delivery Delivery

    Field-based workers

    Field-based employees who travel frequently within the UK, including locations with inadequate mobile coverage but where Wi-Fi is available, such as hotels.

  • Enterprise Enterprise

    Basement offices

    If your business or employees operate within a larger building, such as a basement office, which has Wi-Fi access but no mobile coverage.

  • Family Family

    Small offices

    Smaller branch offices with up to 10 people which has Wi-Fi access but no mobile coverage.

Wi-Fi Calling is especially suitable for providing a smaller-scale equivalent to in-building coverage solutions (less than 10 users on a site), but isn’t a suitable replacement for larger and more complex in-building coverage requirements. How to get Wi-Fi Calling

To use Wi-Fi calling you’ll need a compatible device and price plan.

Compatible price plans:

  • Red Extra and Red Entertainment plans, Business Smart Solution Plans (Business Value). Red, Red Bundle and Red Value, Red Sharer and Business Advance or one of our latest Public Sector Price Plans.

Compatible devices (as of 1 November 2017):

  • Samsung – Galaxy A3 (2016 and 2017), A5 (2016 and 2017), S6, S6 edge, S7, S7 edge, S8, S8+, Note8 and XCover 4
  • iPhone –  iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus or iPhone SE
  • Huawei – P10
  • Sony – XY Premium 
  • Vodafone – Smart ultra 7 and Smart platinum 7
 
Ready to make and receive calls with Wi-Fi Calling? Just follow these steps to set up your business phone(s):

The following Price Plans are not eligible for Wi-Fi calling: One Net Business, One Net Enterprise and One Net Express plans, Business Freedom, Business Sharer, Vodafone Volume Tariff, Mobile Exchange, Mobile Broadband Caller, Legacy Sharer Plans such as Share time, Group Saver, Business Choice, Total Business, Business and any other legacy Business Plans that include VPN.
