Changes to using your mobile service abroad – October 2016

On 16 October 2016 we’re increasing the price of some of our mobile services. This page has information about how your account will be affected and gives you 30 days’ notice of the changes.

We understand that an increase in charges is never good news; however we believe that our revised charges and changes to price plans will continue to be competitive in the market.

Your options

These changes will affect only excess charges for roaming services. Excess charges – also known as out-of-plan or out-of-bundle charges – are the prices you pay when you go over your monthly allowance of data, minutes and texts, or for services not included in your monthly plan. There are no changes to roaming allowances or Roaming Extras that you may have as part of your mobile price plan.

Once you are familiar with the changes, the following options are available to you:

  • If you are comfortable with the changes, you don’t need to do anything.  You can control the costs from your mobile roaming services by managing and monitoring how much you use your phone abroad
  • If you would like to amend your price plan to reduce or avoid charges from excess roaming charges, you can contact us at any time to add a roaming allowance or Roaming Extra to your plan
