P smart vs Galaxy S7 edge

Which one is best for you?

The Galaxy S7 edge was one of 2016’s toP smartphones, perfecting Samsung’s revolutionary edge-to-edge, curved screen and Super AMOLED Infinity Display in a high-end smartphone ideal for gaming and streaming. Rebooted in 2019, the P smart is a mid-range phone, so less-endowed than the S7 edge, but incorporating many of the technology advances of the last couple of years to offer a very tempting device with ideas above its station.

While the S7 edge’s screen is smaller than the P smart’s, it’s a much more responsive, bright and pin-sharp display than the Huawei’s LCD screen. The battery is bigger too, but not by a great deal, although Samsung’s smart AI and adaptive fast charging should give it the edge over the P smart. The Always On display is a nice touch, as is the IP68 waterproof rating. The Samsung is tougher too, with Gorilla Glass protecting it from falls, while the Huawei relies on less durable Plexiglas to encase it.

All that said, the P smart was never designed to take on a flagship phone like the S7 edge, and yet it stands up pretty well. Its dual lens Leica camera takes outstanding photos for a mid-range phone, and the “dewdrop” notch housing the front camera is the sort of innovation you’d expect to see on a much pricier model.
