P smart vs Galaxy S7
Which phone is best for you?
A comparison of the Huawei P smart and Samsung Galaxy S7 shows just how far smartphone technology has advanced in the last couple of years. The S7 was Samsung’s flagship phone in 2016, and had a price tag to match. The P smart was released in 2018 and upgraded for 2019 with some smart new features. Although it is a budget phone, the P smart boasts comparable specs to the S7, even outshining it in some respects.
For example, the S7’s 3000 mAh battery should keep the phone running all day, but the P smart’s 3400 mAh cell tops it. The P smart has a dual lens camera that takes brilliant pictures, but the superior AI driving the S7’s 12-megapixel single lens snapper wins the day, especially in low light.
The Huawei has a much bigger screen – 6.2 inches compared to the S7’s 5.1-inch display, but the Samsung’s high pixel density AMOLED Infinity Display lends itself better to gaming and movies with crisp detail and vibrant colours.
The Galaxy S7 feels like a more premium phone, with a durable Gorilla Glass back which will survive impact better than the P smart’s Plexiglas, but the P smart is a lot of phone for the money, with an innovative “dewdrop” notch and expandable memory up to 512GB.
