P smart vs Galaxy S8 Plus

Which one is best for you?

Samsung’s 2017 plus-sized flagship was celebrated on release for its outstanding camera, beautiful big screen, and VR capabilities. The P smart, released nearly two years later, is a brilliant, feature-laden mid-range phone that packs a real punch.

The S8+ comes loaded with a powerful chipset and 6GB of RAM, so it’s ideal for running data-hungry apps and even virtual reality headsets. Like the P20 Pro it has a 6.2-inch screen, but where the Huawei’s LCD display does a fine job of rendering games and movies, the S8+ shows off Samsung’s dominance in screen technology with a gorgeous Super AMOLED display that wraps around the phone’s curved edges.

Huawei’s recent concentration on innovations in camera tech has resulted in some superb cameras on Huawei’s phones. The P smart’s camera isn’t as impressive as its top-end counterparts – like the Mate 20 Pro – but it still features a pretty impressive array for a mid-range phone. Its dual-lens 16+2-megapixel Leica rear camera and 16-megapixel selfiecam ensure sharp, well-lit photos. The S8+ is no slouch either, and while its 12-megapixel snapper is only a single-lens affair, the software supporting it makes for brilliant photographs, especially in low light.
