P smart vs Galaxy S9 Plus

Which one is best for you?

The Galaxy S9+ and Huawei P smart are two very different phones, designed for different needs. But despite the price gap, they do share a few attributes.

On its release in 2018, Samsung’s top-end flagship was arguably their best smartphone to date, with a gorgeous Super AMOLED display taking up 90% of the phone’s ample face. Its superb dual lens camera shines in low light thanks to the f/1.5 wide aperture setting that allows more light to reach the sensor. Add stereo speakers tuned by AKG, 6GB of RAM and a capacious 3500 mAh battery, and you’ve got a serious phone that should handle streaming and gaming all day without a hitch, all on a single charge.

The P smart is a fine phone in its own right. Huawei’s mid-range stunner sports a Plexiglas back, an innovative “dewdrop” notch, and expandable memory up to 512GB. The 3400 mAh battery almost matches the S9+’s, and Huawei’s expertise in camera tech speaks for itself, with its excellent 13+2-megapixel dual lens Leica snapper, effortlessly delivering pin-sharp images you can be proud of.

The S9+ is a world-beater, but if your budget won’t stretch quite that far, the P smart is about as good as a mid-range smartphone gets.
