P20 lite vs Galaxy S8 Plus

Which one is best for you?

Samsung’s Galaxy S8+ and the P20 lite from Huawei are two very different smartphones. The S8+ has a powerful chipset under the hood, designed to make it the ideal phone for pairing with a Virtual Reality headset. Being a plus-sized model, its dazzling 6.2-inch Super AMOLED screen is ideal for movie buffs and gamers, but the smaller Huawei still impresses with its 5.8-inch Full HD+ LCD display.

Being a premium smartphone, the Galaxy S8+ benefits from some of the latest tech, with an ample 3500 mAh battery allowing for a day and a half of usage on each charge, while the P20 lite’s 3000 mAh should last a day of surfing and streaming.

Huawei’s concentration on camera quality is ably demonstrated by the P20 lite’s cracking dual lens snapper, outshining the S8+’s perfectly adequate 12-megapixel single lens camera, but in almost every other benchmark the S8+ excels, which is not surprising, given its premium price.

Which of these two excellent Android phones suits you best will depend on what you want to do with it, and your budget.
