iPhone 7 vs iPhone SE

Which one is best for you?

At first glance, iPhone 7 and the 2020 iPhone SE could appear similar. They both have 4.7-inch Retina HD displays, a rear single 12-megapixel Wide camera and a front 7-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video. They’re both water resistant to a depth of 1m for up to 30 minutes, and in terms of size and weight, they’re nearly identical – iPhone SE weighs just 10g more. But on closer inspection, there are some differences to take a note of.

For starters, iPhone 7 has a A10 Fusion Chip, compared to iPhone SE’s A13 Bionic chip with third-generation Neural Engine – a powerful processor included for its revamp. iPhone SE’s battery also lasts longer – about the same as iPhone 8 – whereas iPhone 7’s battery is comparable to iPhone 6s’. When it comes to photography, both phones have single 12-megapixel rear cameras with optical image stabilisation and digital zoom up to 5x. iPhone SE does have True Tone flash with slow sync, which slows down the shutter speed when using the flash, compared to iPhone 8’s True Tone flash – and iPhone SE also has Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and Depth Control, as well as Portrait Lighting with six effects.

iPhone 7 comes with up to 128GB of storage and iPhone SE comes with up to 256GB, and both are compatible with Apple Pay.
