iPhone 8 vs iPhone SE

Classic or new school?

iPhone 8 offers some very impressive upgrades, but that might not be enough to put iPhone SE out of the running for you.

First you might notice iPhone 8’s all new, toughened glass exterior. This change is both a design and technological innovation, in that the glass back of iPhone 8 allows wireless charging – a brand new iPhone feature. iPhone 8 also measures slightly larger than the SE at 4.7 inches. Not large format, but big enough to accommodate the Retina HD display.

In addition to changes on the outside, iPhone 8 also boasts some giant leaps forward in terms of hardware. The new A11 Bionic processing chip makes it, along with iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, Apple’s speediest iPhones to date, while iPhone SE uses an older A9 chip.

Everybody loves an underdog

Even with these impressive new features in mind, iPhone SE is still a great phone to have. It boasts the same high quality 12-megapixel camera as iPhone 8 and the same 3x digital zoom. While iPhone SE's rear-facing camera is no match for iPhone 8’s, iPhone SE’s battery life is longer, which means you can get that much more out of your handset before you have to charge it up again.

And for those of you attached to your wired headphones, iPhone SE still retains the old headphone jack.
