What is Tizen OS?

Tizen OS is a Linux-based, open-sourced web OS used in some Galaxy devices, including TVs, smartphones, smartwatches and home appliances. It’s available to developers and users all around the world, who can customise it to their liking.

It was first made public in 2015, when Samsung Smart TVs introduced Tizen to their ecosystem.

If you’re buying a Samsung Smart TV with 4K HDR, there’s a very good chance it’ll use Tizen – as it’s used across all of Samsung’s new QLED TVs. We’d advise you to check with your retailer to be sure.

Does the Galaxy Watch4 Series use Tizen?

No – the Galaxy Watch4 Series uses Water OS, a different platform.
