Frequently asked questions

The Consumer Price Index (or CPI) is the government’s measure for whether the cost of goods and services is going up or down. It’s based on price changes over the year across several industries.

The Retail Price Index (RPI) is another measurement of inflation that’s published and is used to calculate the cost of living and wage escalation.

We understand that no one wants to see prices go up, but like many businesses, we’re experiencing a big rise in the cost of running our network and providing our services. These cost increases are affecting telecoms providers across the UK and are mainly driven by high energy costs and inflation.

We’re not changing the price of:

  • Vodafone Insurance

  • Vodafone Essentials Broadband

  • Home Broadband Xtra/ Extra plans, as long as you’re still in contract and bought your plan before 1 May 2022

  • Home phone calling packages

  • Standalone subscriptions for Entertainment

  • V by Vodafone and Smart Tech products

  • Device Plans – for example, the plan for your phone, watch, tablet, or laptop

  • Public sector plans

We apply the RPI or CPI, plus 3.9% rates to your monthly fee, before the discount is applied.

On top of any annual price increases, your monthly price may go up at the end of your minimum term, when your in-contract discount expires. You should’ve received a service confirmation letter that’ll confirm your in-contract discount and when it’ll expire.
