Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto is an adult action game series where a player completes missions as a criminal in order to progress. Much of the gameplay involves driving, shooting and occasional role-play. It includes content that is not appropriate for children such as graphic violence including killing without motive, sexual content, gambling and strong swearing.

Different Grand Theft Auto games are available across a number of gaming platforms e.g. PlayStation, PC and Android. Players can play alone, invite their friends to play or join other players to form a Crew. The in-game currency can be used to buy in-game items, for example they could buy gambling chips for use in a casino. Players can also pay a monthly subscription for benefits such as new vehicles and clothing.

As this game has been created for adults there are no parental controls. There are some safety settings available on Grand Theft Auto games, for example  as well as blocking and reporting, a player can manage who can speak to them via voice chat or make sessions ‘invite only’ so that strangers can’t join their games. The gaming platform being used to play a Grand Theft Auto game e.g. Xbox may provide additional safety settings.
