Valorant

Valorant is an online multi-player team shooter game set in a dystopian future. A person plays the role of an ‘agent’, which is a character with specific skills. The game is played in rounds where players compete to eliminate each other or to complete objectives. The game includes realistic, frequent combat violence.

Valorant is produced by Riot Games, is available only on PC and players need a Riot account to play the game. People can purchase ‘Radian Points’ to access in-game features such as the ability to change a character’s appearance.

Text and voice chat is available and includes automated moderation which can trigger warnings, chat restrictions and a temporary gaming ban. Players can choose to filter out mature content, explicit language and specific words in chat and turn off voice chat altogether.

There are no parental controls but various safety settings are available. For example, players can block and report other players, hide their name from others and turn off friend requests. Parents can also explore ‘Microsoft Family Safety’ parental controls which can be used on PCs.
