How it works
A user installs Locket as a widget, a small interactive app that automatically shows photos. By tapping the widget, users can open the app to:
• Take photos or short live videos to share with selected friends
• Send messages with captions, emojis, or make emojis rain down on a screen
• Create video recaps using their history to stitch memories together
Images appear immediately on friends’ home screens alongside the sender’s username and streak score. Users can respond with emojis (such as a smiley face) or a message. They can download images or share them elsewhere. Users can ‘undo’ sent content, to delete it from everyone’s Locket app. They can delete received images from their own app. Locket Gold is a paid subscription to upload from a camera roll, add unlimited friends, and see who opened posts.
Parental controls or safety settings available
Locket does not have parental controls. Safety settings include blocking another person and reporting a message. A user can prevent other people from being able to find them via their username, and add a profile picture (but this will be visible to any other users who have their phone number). They can turn off the streak function, so that their widget does not show the streak score.
