People can play Halo games on their own, or with other players online (who they may or may not know). On most gaming platforms, players can use messaging and voice chat features in order to communicate with each other when playing the game.
In some games, players can purchase in-game items such as weapons using currency called ‘Halo credits’.
Players may be required to sign into their Microsoft account in order to play Halo. Parents can therefore activate parental controls such as setting time limits on the game using their Microsoft Family account (where they can add children as family members to their Microsoft account and manage their safety settings). Within the game, a player can report another player. Further safety settings may be available on the gaming platform being used to play Halo on e.g. Xbox.
