Motorola smartphones

What it is
Motorola smartphones is a line of primarily Android-based smartphones (meaning they are powered by Google’s Android operating system), made by Motorola Mobility.

How it works
Motorola smartphones offer the functions and features to be expected from a smartphone such as the ability to take a photograph, edit videos on a touch-screen interface or send emails. In addition, these smartphones provide access to the Google Play store, which gives users the ability to download millions of apps – from Netflix to Instagram. Motorola is introducing artificial intelligence technology into newer phone models, to allow a user to do things like control the phone with their voice, create realistic pictures and to improve camera features.

Parental controls or safety settings available
Motorola smartphones have parental controls and safety settings available and these can be accessed through the Motorola ‘Family Space’ app. This app allows parents to either create a “Space” (a ‘walled garden’ with pre-approved apps) on their own phone before handing it to a child, or they can install the app on their child’s device to manage screen time, block apps, and filter content. Alternatively parents can use the Google Family Link app. This gives parents the ability to:

• Set daily time limits

• Restrict their child’s access to specific apps, websites or features

• View the location of their child’s device
