These tablets have features such as ‘T-pens’ which allow users to draw and ‘multi-angle flip covers’ for easier viewing. They also provide features and functions similar to their smartphones such as cameras, speakers and internet connectivity. A range of apps can also be accessed through the Google Play store. Newer TCL tablets are using artificial intelligence technology for example to enhance photos, provide a more paper-like reading experience or assist users to search more efficiently.
TKEE tablets are also available from TCL. These are a series of child-friendly tablets with built-in parental controls and safety features including Eye Care, which manages tone and brightness, and a built-in stand and reminders to the child to sit in a healthy posture.
TCL Tabs do have parental controls available and these can be accessed through the Google Family Link app to help parents block or restrict apps on their child’s tablet, limit screen time and manage access to specific websites. Parents can use Family Link to view the location of their child’s device. They can also restrict apps and games on Android devices by using the Google Play parental controls. The Permission Manager and Digital Wellbeing settings can be used to manage time spent online and prevent apps accessing personal data such as device location.
