How it works
Xiaomi smartphones allow users to access core functions such as making voice calls or sending text messages in addition to shooting videos, browsing the internet and much more. The Google Play store also gives users access to millions of popular apps. AI (artificial intelligence) is included in newer models for tasks like creating videos, taking notes and translating text.
Parental controls or safety settings available
The Google Family Link app provides parental controls such as:
• Setting daily time limits and school hours when notifications should be off
• Restricting their child’s access to specific apps, websites or features
• Viewing the location of their child’s device
You can also access parental control settings via Xiaomi’s device settings. Xiaomi phones may include a ‘Second Space’ function, which allows the user to switch to an alternative profile (where parental controls do not apply). Parents may wish to pin-protect Second Space.
