At launch, Vodafone TV will:
- Include Netflix and HBO Max, with the option to add other streaming services.

How to link your smartphone to your TV
Streaming devices, such as Google Chromecast and Apple TV, can give your smartphone, tablet or laptop a big-screen extension, help you be more productive and have more fun.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director, VodafoneThree said: “Vodafone TV is so much more than TV, it’s a family entertainment platform that brings together live TV, On Demand, streaming, gaming, music and all the apps on the Google Play Store. The entertainment experience is powered by our small yet mighty set top box with 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
“We’ve made it simple to find and discover content through smart AI voice search and personalised recommendations linked to a user’s profile. And with our companion app, the experience is with you wherever you go. With brilliant content partnerships, including HBO Max, Netflix and Freely built-in – that’s how entertainment should be done.”
Paolo Pescatore, Technology and Telecoms Analyst, added: “Vodafone TV is one of the strongest family entertainment offerings in the UK and provides a clear direction of where home entertainment is heading. The future of streaming is about aggregation, simplicity and discovery, bringing free-to-air, premium streaming, entertainment and gaming together in one place.
“Vodafone’s partnership approach with Freely, Netflix, HBO Max and Google gives households far greater flexibility and choice. It also packs plenty of substance, with 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos included, while the box’s power makes navigation fast, content fluid and gaming more immersive.
“Crucially, Freely removes the need for a traditional aerial, reinforcing the wider shift toward an internet-delivered future. This is a smart, modern way to upgrade the TV experience and represents the direction the wider industry is moving.”
How cloud gaming could make consoles and PCs obsolete
Just as Netflix sidelined DVDs, streaming games over the internet could transform the gaming industry - as long as developers overcome several barriers first.
Vodafone TV will be available from October to new and existing Vodafone customers with a home broadband, 5G Broadband or mobile plan – making Vodafone the only Mobile Network Operator in the UK to bundle TV with mobile and mobile broadband giving customers more flexibility.
Will Morse, Vice President Commercial Distribution & Operations, WBD UK & Ireland said: “Six months on from launching HBO Max in the UK and Ireland, we’ve seen an incredible reaction from audiences to our award-winning movies and series, both those newly released, and from our unbeatable library that includes some of the biggest shows and movies in history.
“Partnering with Vodafone will bring HBO Max to even more UK customers, giving mobile and broadband users access to our award-winning movies and series at home via Vodafone TV and on the go. From Max Originals such as The Pitt, to acclaimed series including Succession and Friends and Oscar-winning films such as One Battle After Another and Sinners. Audiences can also look forward to the magic of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, this Christmas available to stream exclusively on HBO Max.”
VodafoneThree’s £11bn investment to build the UK’s best network is expanding 5G coverage, reducing not-spots and improving digital infrastructure to bring faster, more reliable connectivity across the UK. The launch of Vodafone TV reflects the growing convergence of connectivity and entertainment, bringing the services customers use every day into one simple experience.
