Small businesses offered free broadband for six months

Vodafone UK has announced that it will give small businesses six months of free unlimited broadband to help them get through the COVID-19 crisis.

The offer, which also includes six months of free Microsoft 365 Business Standard, is giving a lifeline to businesses who may have struggled over the past few months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Businesses with up to 49 employees will be able to return to work with one less bill payment to worry about.

Nick Jeffery, Vodafone UK’s Chief Executive Officer, said “Our role in these challenging times is to keep the UK connected and help businesses return to work. Small businesses have been hit particularly hard by this crisis.

“By reducing their costs and providing them with our brilliant technology and expertise, we hope to help them get back on their feet and return to growth.

A little financial help now, will go a long way in the future

In the UK, where there are more than five million small businesses, this rescue package could play a crucial role in getting business back on its feet and kick-starting the economy.

Paul McGann, Managing Director of Cat Among the Pigeons, a creative promotional marketing agency based in Leeds, said: “With one less bill to think about for six months, this offer will be incredibly helpful to small businesses like us.

“As a recent start-up, we were just three months into the business plan when the Government advised social distancing and restricted all non-essential travel movement across the UK. With Vodafone’s fast and reliable broadband connectivity we have been able to maintain our levels of service and carry out business as usual even while working remotely.”

The new deal from Vodafone is part of a 24-month unlimited data contract and is available for new and existing customers. Small business customers who sign up will get the first six months for free and pay £19.17 (excl. VAT) a month thereafter for Unlimited Vodafone Business Broadband.
