Vodafone has launched Secure Net Home, a combination of digital security and advanced parental controls that can be used on more than 150 connected devices in the home, with Pro II broadband.
- Secure Net Home provides a comprehensive combination of features, from real-time virus protection to family controls and tools to manage digital downtime.
- Features such as ‘Focus time’ let you be more selective about what children can access – a perfect option when homework requires internet connectivity, but distracting content like games or social media needs to take a back seat.
- New offering builds on Vodafone’s more than decade-long commitment to helping parents navigate their family’s online use, with our wealth of digital parenting resources and NSPCC partnership.
- Secure Net Home is now available for all new and existing Pro II customers*, giving busy families hassle-free security and family controls for up to 150 devices.
From blocking adult content to limiting social media usage, Secure Net Home combines a number of flexible features to provide one of the most comprehensive sets of tools on the market for parents looking to manage their children’s screen time and keep their family safe online. Secure Net Home is now available at no extra cost for all new and existing Pro II customers*.
The cybersecurity threats facing every small business
For every online threat, there’s a shield to protect your business and your customers – here's everything you need to know, including how Vodafone Business can help.
At the heart of this toolkit sits a safer online experience. Secure Net Home provides real-time protection against viruses and online threats for any device connected to WiFi. That means, whether shopping, banking or browsing, the whole family will be protected against malicious websites, phishing attacks, malware infections and viruses.
When it comes to advanced parental controls, Secure Net Home makes it easier to manage what your children see and do online. By downloading the Secure Net app, parents can create profiles for their children, before assigning groups of devices to apply preferred controls for each individual user.
This could include their mobile phone or laptop, as well as connected devices such as TVs or games consoles that they might have in their bedrooms. Customisable content filters also ensure age-appropriate browsing, giving you full control over what types of content categories your child has access to, including adult content, social media, gambling, gaming and video.
Safer Internet Day makes a real difference to children online
Following a successful Safer Internet Day 2024, we spoke to Childnet CEO Will Gardner around this year’s impact report, and what it tells us about the state of online safety for young people.
For set family times, such as when you’re sitting around the dinner table, simply use the ‘Pause the internet’ feature to restrict internet access on selected devices for an hour.
Alternatively, ‘Focus time’ lets you be more selective about what children can access – a perfect option when homework requires internet connectivity, but distracting content like games or social media needs to take a back seat.
Finally, ‘Set bedtimes’ helps you manage access to the internet on your child’s connected devices during quiet hours in the evening, allowing children to completely switch off at night.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director, Vodafone UK, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing our best-ever broadband security and family controls to busy households, delivering the ultimate in hassle-free security to families across the nation – and all at no extra cost for our Pro II customers.
“Vodafone has been committed to helping parents navigate their family’s online use for well over a decade, with our wealth of digital parenting resources and partnership with NSPCC. We’re proud to be supporting parents further with Secure Net Home, providing them with even more practical tools to keep their children safe online.”
Tech Savvy Tweens: New research reveals kids’ digital knowledge surpasses their parents by the age of 12
On Safer Internet Day (SID) 2023, Vodafone launches Digital Parenting Pro, one of the biggest parental controls and safety settings resources in the UK, empowering parents to keep up with their kids and improve their own digital skills.
Designed for families and built into the Ultra Hub router, Secure Net Home is easily managed within the Secure Net app and adds an extra layer of security to your home broadband setup.
Secure Net Home joins Vodafone’s existing Secure Net Mobile all-in-one mobile security service, meaning Vodafone has families covered whether at home or on the move. Secure Net Home can be activated via the Vodafone Broadband app.
Both are managed using the Secure Net app, available to download through the App Store or Google Play, making it quicker and easier than ever to stay protected on Vodafone’s reliable, award-winning network.
