Vodafone Group has released financial results for the six months to 30 September, with CEO Nick Read describing them as "resilient" in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Today’s results underline increased confidence in our full-year outlook,” said Nick. “We are reporting a resilient first half performance and we continue to see good commercial momentum across the Group.”
Group revenue was €21.4bn (£19.2bn), down 2.3% on the same period last year, as good underlying momentum was offset by the effects of COVID-19 on roaming and visitor revenue, as well as lower handset sales.
Vodafone UK’s revenue for the period was just under €3bn. Highlights included the mobile contract customer base increasing by 142,000, driven by increased Business demand and the reopening of the retail stores. And VOXI, the company’s mobile network aimed at young people, saw 65,000 customer additions.
