Westfield shopping centres in London get Vodafone 4G

Retailers and shoppers in both Stratford and Shepherd's Bush can now take advantage of the stronger, faster 4G signal from Vodafone.

The two largest shopping centres in London now have faster and more reliable Vodafone 4G connectivity thanks to recent improvements.

Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City are home to more than 600 stores, restaurants and drinks outlets. Vodafone 4G has been installed on new infrastructure covering over 4.5 million sq ft (over 420k m2) across the two shopping centres.

The dedicated 4G coverage will ensure shoppers and employees have fast mobile data on their Vodafone mobiles and tablets. Meanwhile, retailers can take advantage of the improved coverage to support their ePOS (electronic Point of Sale) systems and digital marketing campaigns.

Vodafone network improvements check out at 10 shopping centres

Vodafone network improvements, both 5G and 4G, are being rolled out in shopping centres across the UK.

Andrea Dona, Vodafone’s UK Chief Network Officer, said: “Shopping centres are an important part of our economy. By introducing dedicated Vodafone 4G to these locations, we are helping to ensure they have the technology they need to trade effectively, as well as the foundations they need to grow in the future.

“Meanwhile, the installation of Vodafone 4G will ensure shoppers get the reliable coverage they expect.”

Vodafone improvements are also being made at some of the busiest shopping locations across the UK, including Trafford Centre in Manchester and Cardiff St David INTU in Milton Keynes, Festival Place in Basingstoke, and Leeds’ Trinity Centre.

Vodafone was named the most reliable network in London, as well as best network for voice in London, based on measurements from the umlaut connect Mobile Network Benchmark in December 2022.
