Vodafone rolls out security and smart router upgrades to 900,000 more broadband customers

Previously exclusive to Vodafone Pro customers, Who's Home and Secure Net Home are now also available to those on standard broadband packages.

  • Vodafone’s hassle-free online security service, Secure Net Home, and smart router technology, Who’s Home, are now available to a further 900,000 customers across the UK.
  • Previously exclusive to Vodafone Pro customers, Secure Net Home is now also available to those on standard broadband* packages.
  • The service protects up to 128 connected devices in the home from viruses and online threats, alongside offering the most comprehensive set of parental controls.
  • Vodafone also expands its Who’s Home feature to all customers on standard broadband* and Pro 2 at no extra cost, providing alerts when household members come and go.
  • Vodafone is the first UK broadband provider to offer this smart router technology, featuring simple set-up, instant alerts and clear privacy controls.

Vodafone has announced broadband upgrades that will benefit more than 900,000 additional homes in the UK. From today, it’s making its allinone digital security service, Secure Net Home, available to standard broadband customers with Power Hub routers, while its smart router feature, Who’s Home, is being extended to all Pro 2 and standard broadband customers.

Secure Net Home – which initially launched in 2024 – has already helped Vodafone’s Pro broadband customers feel safer online, offering simple, built‑in protection for the whole family. With the expansion to standard broadband customers, Vodafone will now offer peace of mind to more households.

Vodafone launches Secure Net Home, giving busy families hassle-free security and family controls for every connected device in the home

Vodafone has launched Secure Net Home, a combination of digital security and advanced parental controls that can be used on more than 150 connected devices in the home, with Pro II broadband.

The service provides hassle‑free security with network-level virus and malware protection for up to 128 devices – from laptops and tablets to smart TVs and gaming consoles. Families can browse, shop and bank with confidence, knowing their broadband is protected automatically in the background.

As well as virus and malware protection, Secure Net includes the most comprehensive suite of parental control features designed to help families stay safe online and support healthier digital habits at home. With features including:

  • Customisable content filters
Parents can tailor internet access to ensure children only see age-appropriate content while browsing online.
  • Pause the Internet
Internet access can be paused on children’s connected devices – including smartphones and gaming consoles – ideal for family time, meals, and moments that matter.
  • Set bedtimes
Internet access can be automatically switched off at bedtime to help children wind down and develop healthy digital habits.
  • Focus Time
During homework or study hours, access to distracting websites and apps – like social media or online games – can be limited, while still allowing access to educational resources.
  • Customisable child profiles
To ensure controls suit the needs of each household, parents can create individual profiles for each child and assign specific devices, with their own personalised filters and limits applied.

With Secure Net Home now expanding to Vodafone broadband standard plans with a Power Hub router, these features are now available to a wider Vodafone customer base. New users can try the service free for the first three months, then £2 a month with the flexibility to cancel any time – giving families an easy, affordable way to stay safer online.

The expansion of Secure Net Home coincides with Vodafone’s Who’s Home service becoming available to all its Pro 2 and standard broadband customers with a Power Hub router, at no extra cost. Who’s Home – which launched initially on Pro 3 in 2025 – is a router technology designed to give greater peace of mind and reassurance by alerting account holders when their loved ones arrive or leave home.

Who's Home: Peace of mind, powered by Vodafone

Vodafone launches new broadband feature, ‘Who’s Home’, that provides alerts when your loved ones arrive home.

The introduction of Who’s Home made Vodafone the only UK broadband provider to offer smart router technology that proactively alerts customers when other members of their household connect or disconnect from their hub. It’s simple to set up through the Vodafone Broadband app, where account holders can create profiles for each household member by linking their smartphone – regardless of their device or mobile provider. Each person receives an SMS invitation to opt in, with reminder texts every three months, giving them the option to opt out at any time. The account holder is automatically kept updated on who has opted in or out, ensuring that both privacy and control stay firmly in the hands of each family member.

Online protection for Vodafone customers doesn’t stop at home. Secure Net Mobile is available to all Vodafone mobile customers for £2 a month and provides roundtheclock protection against viruses and malware, advanced parental controls, and 24/7 ID monitoring. Most recently, Scam Call Protection was added to Secure Net Mobile – an AIpowered feature that flags scam and suspected nuisance calls before customers even pick up.

Notes to Editors

*Standard Broadband: both Secure Net and Who’s Home are now available to Vodafone customers with a standard broadband package and Power Hub router.

Scam Call Protection on Secure Net Mobile uses AI to analyse and identify potentially fraudulent, spam, scam and nuisance calls, which are then flagged directly to the customer.
