Vodafone supports Government’s ‘Help for Households’ campaign

Government and leading businesses have joined forces to agree deals and discounts to help households struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Businesses, including Amazon, Asda, Morrisons and Vodafone, have agreed to offer cut-price deals to help people reduce their household bills this summer.

Vodafone’s £10 a month ‘VOXI For Now’ low-cost mobile phone tariff gets special mention in the Government announcement. The plan supports anyone claiming Job Seekers Allowance, Universal Credit or Employment and Support Allowance, and includes unlimited 5G data, as well as unlimited calls and texts. This is just one of many ways Vodafone is helping customers with the cost of living, along with the company’s wide-ranging everyone.connected campaign aimed at tackling digital exclusion.

How Vodafone's everyone.connected campaign is tackling digital exclusion

Nicki Lyons, Vodafone's UK Director of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, explains how the company is fulfilling its mission to connect the disconnected and support vulnerable people.

Some supermarkets are offering discounted meals for kids in their cafes as well as low-cost meal deals, while London theatres are allowing kids to see a West End show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult.

Ahmed Essam, Vodafone’s UK CEO, said: “Vodafone is proud to support the ‘Help for Households’ campaign that offers support to individuals and families most impacted by the cost of living challenge, and raises awareness of what’s available.”

“Vodafone offers VOXI For Now, which is the only mobile social tariff to help those experiencing financial hardship stay connected, as well as our everyone.connected campaign to provide free connectivity to one million people living in digital poverty by the end of 2022.”

Vodafone enhances VOXI For Now social tariff to boost support for those in financial hardship

The VOXI For Now tariff, on Vodafone’s VOXI brand, will give unlimited 5G data, calls and texts for just £10 a month to anyone receiving benefits.

The deals form the first part of the Help for Households retail campaign which will aim to provide support for families throughout the year.

Cost of Living Business Tsar and former Just Eat boss David Buttress and Prime Minister Boris Johnson are hosting a meeting today (Thursday 21 July) with senior business leaders at No10 Downing Street to discuss the new deals and what more can be done to support families in these tough economic times.

Vodafone will be represented at the meeting, joined by leaders from Sainsbury’s, Amazon, Centrica and the CBI.

How Vodafone can help with the rising cost of living

As well as Vodafone’s VOXI For Now £10 a month social tariff, customers can benefit from several other cost-cutting measures the company offers:

  • Package deals: Bringing mobile and broadband together (Vodafone Together) can save customers up to £380 a year, based on a family of four having both Vodafone Pro Broadband and Vodafone EVO mobile contracts.
  • Loyalty schemes: Make the most of loyalty schemes, like VeryMe accessed through the My Vodafone app. From free weekly coffees (save approximately £15 a month), to gifts for special occasions, to 25% off eating out at local restaurants or discounts on family days out.
  • Shop around: Don’t be fooled into thinking you can only get one broadband provider in your postcode. Vodafone broadband starts from just £22 a month. Vodafone is now the largest provider of full fibre, the most reliable broadband technology, making it available to more homes than any other provider.
  • Avoid paying twice: Lots of mobile contracts (like Vodafone Unlimited Max + Entertainment) let you choose additional benefits over a 24-month contract period – such as YouTube Premium, Amazon Prime or Spotify Premium. Don’t double up and pay for your own if it’s already included in a package deal.
  • Seek out charity support if you need free connectivity: Available through Vodafone’s everyone.connected programme, charities can apply for free Vodafone SIMs and then distribute them to those in need. Each SIM is loaded with 20GB of data a month for six months, plus unlimited calls and texts.
  • Saving money for small businesses too: Vodafone is the best network for businesses, with 24-month plans for Superfast Business Broadband from £20 a month.
