charities.connected
If you're a charity, find out how to apply for free mobile connectivity to help tackle digital exclusion.
Thank you for being part of our journey!
Since launching in 2021, charities.connected has helped thousands of charities tackle digital exclusion, donating 1.7 million free SIM cards to connect people to opportunities, services and support.
Following a programme review, we're sharing this update now to give charities advance notice and time to plan for the transition. Applications for SIM cards will close on 5 October 2026, after which the programme will end. SIMs already distributed will continue to operate in line with programme terms.
We remain committed to tackling digital exclusion across the UK. As charities.connected comes to an end, we'll continue working with partners such as Good Things Foundation to help organisations access alternative connectivity support, including through the National Databank.
What's next? Free online workshops
In partnership with Good Things Foundation, we're offering a series of online workshops to help organisations learn more about the National Databank and the support available through Good Things Foundation's network.
These sessions will cover:
What the National Databank is and how it works
The benefits of becoming a Databank Hub
Eligibility requirements

Apply for free mobile connectivity to support your charity
How you can help us support people without digital connectivity
If you're a charity that needs support for digital inclusion programmes, you can apply for free Vodafone SIMs, each loaded with 40GB data a month for six months, plus unlimited calls and texts. You can use these however you like - for example, to provide connectivity to your service users or deliver training to people in need.
We distribute SIMs through charities and cannot distribute SIMs to individuals.
It's been wonderful to see the joy in their faces
After being the victim of a racial attack, former security officer Jahswill Emmanuel not only forgave his attacker, but in 2016 he set up Multi-Ethnic Sports and Culture Northern Ireland (MSCNI), a charity that aims to integrate Northern Ireland's diverse community. From sporting events like football tournaments, to cultural activities like poetry and singing, the charity unites Northern Ireland's diverse community.
As part of Vodafone's everyone.connected campaign, Jahswill has given out more than 100 SIMs to help vulnerable people in the community stay in touch with their loved ones, especially valuable at a time when prices are going up. In fact, Jahswill has already ordered 500 more from us.
