At Vodafone, we understand the importance of staying connected through these difficult times. To help out, we have designed Vodafone Essentials Broadband. This is an affordable broadband plan from just £20 a month (66p a day).

Our 12-month contract gives you the certainty of no in-contract price rises but the flexibility to leave with no early termination fees. Available for all existing and new customers who are receiving specific government benefits.

If you’re an existing customer on Fibre 1 or Fibre 2, you can switch to Vodafone Essentials. You’ll also need to be receiving one of the following benefits: ​

  • Universal Credit

  • Jobseeker’s Allowance

  • Pension Credit

  • Employment Support Allowance

  • Income Support

  • Reduced Earnings Allowance

  • Personal Independence Payments

  • Disability Allowance

If you’re an Xtra customer, a Pro customer, or get speeds of over 150 Mbps, you will lose any additional benefits which are included and you might be charged to leave your plan early. Find out more about our leaving fees

It’s quick and easy to register your interest by completing the online registration order form.

Once you have registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email. A member of our dedicated team will give you a call to confirm your eligibility and process your order.

It should take around a week to complete the process, from submitting your order form to receiving a call from our team.

Yes, we will need to run a credit check. For more information on how this works, please visit our credit check information page

Once you’ve completed the form, we’ll check your eligibility and let you know if you qualify. We’ll call you to process your order. There’s no need to contact us in the meantime.

Depending on the type of installation, an engineer may need to run cables from inside your property to the outside which may involve work to your front garden or path. If work is required, we’ll let you know and you will need to sign an agreement to confirm you’ve had permission. For more information, please visit our broadband installation page

Vodafone Essentials is not applicable for Vodafone Together discount.

Don’t worry if you miss a call from us, we’ll try again 4 - 5 hours later. If we called you in the afternoon, it will be the following morning.

If you’ve missed more than five calls from us, then you will need to register again using the online form.

You can continue with Vodafone Essentials after your 12-month contract, as long as you still qualify for one or more of the listed government benefits and we’re still offering Essential plans. If not, you can choose one of our standard broadband plans or leave without charge. We will contact you with your options by email before your contract ends. If no action is taken, the price will increase to £30.

Payment: Payment is by Direct Debit. Please note that VAT is included in the advertised prices and charges where required and is applied at the UK standard rate in force unless otherwise stated.

Switching: Unfortunately Virgin customers may need to contact their current provider directly in order to switch.

Home Phone

Line rental: This plan includes line rental but does not include any inclusive home phone calls.

Call costs and subscription features: Details of our call costs (including a complete list of all our premium rate and international call costs and charges) are set out in our Vodafone Broadband and Home Phone Price Plan. The costs of any features or feature bundles which include a monthly subscription charge are also included in this Price Plan. Please note that any features or feature bundles must be retained for a minimum of 30 days.

Evening and weekend calls: You may purchase extra call bundles allowing calls to certain numbers at particular times of the day. This is how we define these times:

‘Daytime’ is 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday

‘Evening’ is 7pm to 7am, Monday to Friday

'Weekend’ is all day Saturday and Sunday (midnight Friday to midnight Sunday). Please note that bank holidays are treated as normal weekends.

Anytime calls: Can be made during daytime, evening and weekend periods. Max call duration is 60 minutes – standard call charges will apply after 60 minutes.

Number Transfer: Our ability to transfer your number is subject to availability.
