Make sure you’ve passed the checks in our Trade-in Tool using the phone you’d like to trade in (your old phone). Once you’ve successfully​ completed the Trade-in Tool and your new phone is on its way, we’ll send you a return pack.

Deliveries are taking a little longer than usual right now, due to the pandemic. Your return pack should be with you in around 7 days.​

In order to get your monthly trade-in saving, your phone needs to be in good condition.

When you trade-in, your old phone is assessed against criteria to make sure it passes our trade-in checks.

If you've already started your trade-in, you can use the Trade-in Tool on the My Vodafone app to review the condition of your phone - if it passes our checks, we'll give you instant confirmation of your guaranteed saving and a return pack will be sent to you once your new phone is on its way.

You'll need to use our Trade-in Tool to check that your phone is in good working condition and can be traded in.

Once you've passed the checks, we'll send you a return pack. Put your phone in this pack and return it to us within 14 days - using the free, pre-paid postage enclosed in the return pack. Make sure you get proof of postage.

You’ll need to complete the Trade-in Tool using the phone that you’d like to trade in – your old phone.

If you accidentally complete the tool on your new phone, we’ll send you a text to remind you that you need to complete it again on your old phone. Please do this within 24 hours to keep your trade-in saving.

Your saving is applied immediately at the point of purchase.

You’ll need to pass the checks in our Trade-in Tool within two days of your purchase. Once you’ve passed our checks and your new phone is on its way, we’ll send you a return pack. Deliveries are taking a little longer than usual right now, due to the pandemic. Your return pack should be with you in around 7 days. You’ll need to send your phone to us in the return pack within 14 days.

If you don’t pass our trade-in checks or return your phone to us within 14 days, your saving will be removed.

Your saving will be applied to your monthly bill for the duration of your 24-month Airtime plan.

Don’t worry, you won’t lose out – should you choose to upgrade early with the Annual Upgrade Promise, we’ll credit you with the remaining saving amount.

To be traded in, your phone will need to:

  • Turn on to the home screen
  • Have no more than three scratches or cracks – if there are any scratches or cracks, these can be no longer than 10mm
  • Have a fully-functional touchscreen, e.g. responds correctly to directional swipes and selecting keyboard letters and apps

 

 Note: Before sending your Trade-In Device to us, you must:

  1. Remove any Google accounts from your phone before sending it to us; and
  2. Switch off any security settings (such as Find My Mobile or Find my iPhone)

To access our Trade-in Tool, open the My Vodafone app and go to the dashboard and select Trade-in Tool.  

If you’d like to return your phone to us in store, you’ll be pleased to know we’ve re-opened some of our retail stores. Find out if your nearest store is open

Our stores are following Government advice and we’ve taken all the appropriate measures you’d expect to make our stores as safe as possible for customers and staff.

If you’d prefer not to return your phone to us in-store, you can post it to us using the returns pack we send you.

Yes, you can. Once your new phone has arrived, you’ll have 14 days to return your current phone to us. So if you’re returning your phone to us by post, you’ll receive your new phone before you trade-in your current one. 

We recommend that you’re 100% happy with your new phone and plan before returning your old phone to us.

If you’re trading in in-store, we’ll do a swap immediately – so make sure your data is backed up.

If your new phone is currently out of stock and you’re waiting for it to be available, you can keep your current phone until your new one arrives.

Once you’re ready to trade in, you can do so by pre-paid postage, using the return pack we sent you.
 

You can choose not to return your phone to us within the 14-day returns period and we’ll simply remove the saving that was applied to your bill.

When you select a phone plan with the trade-in saving applied, you’ll see a list of criteria that your phone needs to meet in order for it to pass our trade-in checks. So you’ll be made aware in advance if your phone is likely to be accepted. You’ll also be asked to confirm that your phone meets this list of criteria before proceeding.

To be traded in, your phone will need to:

  • Turn on to the home screen
  • Have no more than three scratches or cracks – if there are any scratches or cracks, these can be no longer than 10mm
  • Have a fully-functional touchscreen, e.g. responds correctly to directional swipes and selecting keyboard letters and apps

If your phone didn’t pass the checks carried out with our Trade-in Tool, or isn’t one of the models in the promotion, you can still trade it in for a cash payment.

We’ll send you a text message to confirm that the monthly saving has been removed from your bill, if you’ve already made your purchase with the trade-in saving applied.

You’ll need to re-visit our Trade-in Tool.

Once you reach the ‘Enter your mobile number’ stage of the Trade-in Tool, you’ll need to enter your Vodafone mobile number. This should be the phone number you're using with your new phone.

We'll send you a link to the Trade-in Tool by email and text, or you can access it on the My Vodafone app through the Assistance menu.

If you're still struggling to access it, make sure you're using an eligible Samsung or Apple device with the latest version of software and My Vodafone app.

If you can’t complete the steps in the Trade-in Tool, come and see us in store where one of our advisers will be able to help you. 

You’ll have 14 days to return your phone to us, so we recommend that you’re 100% happy with your new phone before you trade in your old one.

We can’t return your old phone to you if you’ve already traded it in.

Pay Monthly

*Monthly price shown: will increase by the Consumer Price Index rate published in January of that year + an additional 3.9%.  If you have a Device Plan, this will not affect your monthly Device Plan payments: vodafone.co.uk/pricechanges.

Minimum term agreement, credit check and terms apply

Device plan: means a credit agreement for the duration of the plan. A Monthly Airtime Plan (i.e. Xtra Plan) is required with your Device Plan. Device Plans up to 12 months require either a 12 or 24 month Monthly Airtime Plan. Device Plans over 12  months require a 24 month Monthly Airtime Plan. You can pay off your Device Plan early, and if you do, you can then keep your Airtime Plan on a 30-day contract or leave. If your Airtime Plan ends for any reason, you will need to keep on paying your monthly Device Plan (either in full or monthly).

Minutes & text: to standard mobiles & landlines (UK: 01, 02, 03) & standard SMS in the UK & our inclusive roaming destination. A 1-minute minimum call charge applies.

Data: a 25GB fair roam policy on all Pay monthly plans, per 30-day period applies in our inclusive roaming destinations.

Unlimited data: available on Unlimited Lite Plan (max download/upload speed of 2Mbps), Unlimited Plan (max download/upload speeds of 10Mbps) & Unlimited Max Plan. Speed may vary by a number of factors.

Total Care Warranty: 24 month warranty starts from the date of purchase of a handset from Vodafone either on a Device Plan or outright. Warranty only applies to manufacturer faults. Battery Refresh: applicable for phone devices purchased either on a Device Plan or purchased outright from Vodafone, with a Vodafone Pay Monthly Plan. Is available for the length of the plan (minimum of 2 years and maximum of 3 years). Battery Refresh is not available for phones that have been cracked, smashed or have water damage (i.e. damage that would not be covered under a manufacturer warranty) and chargeable repairs can be offered. An appointment is required for a health check and battery replacements. Book online at participating locations. Not applicable for Watch Plans or Refurbished Phones.

Vodafone Together discount: If you have signed up to an eligible Airtime and an eligible Pro Broadband plan, you are eligible for a discount on your Broadband plan. Both services must remain connected to continue to receive the discount. The discount amount will vary depending on what Airtime plan you have. Only selected Airtime plans include unlimited data, texts & minutes. Please see your Home Broadband Charges Guide for more information on discounts.

Unlimited Bundle: An Unlimited Pay as you go Bundle lasts for 30 days. Your bundle will automatically renew every 30 days if you have enough credit. To opt out call 2345. Unlimited minutes and texts: minutes to standard mobiles and landlines (UK: 01, 02, 03) and standard texts (excluding MMS) in the UK and our inclusive roaming destinations. Roaming data is capped at 25GB per 30-day period in our inclusive roaming destinations. 

Pay as you go Bundles (Big Value Bundle): Minutes to standard mobiles and landlines (UK: 01, 02, 03), standard texts and data (excluding entertainment packs and Extras) to use in the UK and our Europe Zone. Last 30 days. Automatically renews every 30 days if you have enough credit. Opt out by calling 2345. For more information on Pay as you go Bundles (also known as Big Value Bundles).

Total Rollover: Any unused allowance from your current Pay as you go Bundle will only rollover from one bundle to the next, for use in the next 30-day period, if your Pay as you go Bundle renews automatically.
