Help keeping my number

This will depend on the day and time you send your form.

If you sent your form before 5pm (Monday to Friday):
You can expect your number to be transferred the next working day. The transfer usually happens between 11am and 5pm, but sometimes can take until midnight.

If you sent your form after 5pm or over the weekend:
You can expect your number to be moved within two working days.
For example, if you submit it on a Saturday, your number will move across on the Tuesday. This transfer usually happens between 11am and 5pm, but sometimes can take until midnight.

Please note: Bank Holidays are not working days so your request may take longer to complete.

You can transfer up to 25 mobile numbers at a time to our network. Please get in touch with your account manager to find out more.

  • On the day your number is due to move, put your Vodafone SIM in your phone and switch it on.
  • While your number is being transferred, you might find you can't make calls, send text messages or use your mobile data. This is temporary and a normal part of the transfer process.
  • The number transfer will happen between 11am and 5pm. If it doesn’t happen by midnight, please switch your phone, containing your Vodafone SIM, off and on again. If you’re still experiencing issues after that, please get in touch on Live Chat.
  • If you’re on Pay as you go – your number will be activated on our network when you make your first call or send your first text.
  • When your number’s been moved across, we’ll send you a text to welcome you on board.

If you’re joining us on SIM only from another network and want to keep your current phone, you’ll need a Network Unlock Code (NUC).

To request your NUC from your old provider you’ll need to call them. Contact details can be found on their website through the following links:

When you’ve received the NUC, we’ve got guidance on how to use it to unlock your phone to use on our network.
