Vodafone and Exchange Communications switch on 4G across Battersea Power Station

Residents, businesses and visitors alike can now benefit from strong, reliable 4G signal in London's latest riverside development.

Vodafone customers living in, working in, or visiting the iconic Battersea Power Station are now enjoying fast Vodafone 4G mobile data speeds, as well as more reliable calls, following improvements being made across London’s newest riverside neighbourhood.

Connected and driven forward by Exchange Communications, the UK’s leading in-building cellular solutions specialists, Vodafone 4G is already live in the Grade II listed Power Station. Its arrival is ensuring people visiting and working in its shops, bars, restaurants, and office spaces have fast and reliable Vodafone 4G signal.

Airports, tents and the Tube: Vodafone signal has you covered

Vodafone’s ongoing network improvement programme yields stronger signal, faster speeds and greater capacity for visitors and locals alike at holiday destinations across the UK.

Lift 109, a unique glass elevator experience in the station’s north-west chimney offering panoramic views of the city, is also covered – perfect for those wanting to stream or share their experiences with friends or on social media.

The main Power Station building joins other areas of the development which are already live, including the Underground station, with 4G expected to be switched on across the whole of Battersea in the near future.

Borders residents and businesses get 4G mobile signal boost thanks to UK government investment

A Shared Rural Network mast, near Lockerbie and funded by the UK government, is the first of 120 planned upgrades to bolster 4G reception across Scotland.

Tom Sime, CEO of Exchange Communications, said: “The vision for Battersea Power Station was to create a highly integrated and interactive space where people can live, work, and socialise, all within this new riverside neighbourhood for London.

“After the painstaking restoration of the power station in recent years, our work will truly enable this to become a reality, marking a tangible milestone in the project and delivering unrivalled connectivity.

“As a UK business, it has been a real honour and we are proud to be delivering something of this scale and significance for the UK.

“Battersea Power Station, as a result, has become one of the most connected sites in the country and is an exemplar of how connectivity, can bring spaces to life and into the future for the people who use it.”

A basic guide to Vodafone UK’s network

Vodafone UK's high-speed network is state-of-the-art, the result of billions in investment over the last five years. But how do all the parts fit together?

Andrea Dona, Vodafone’s UK Chief Network Officer, said: “Battersea Power Station is an iconic London landmark, so to have played a part in its regeneration is fantastic.  Our connectivity will support the Battersea Power Station development by supplying the connectivity it needs to support its residents, businesses, and visitors.

“This will also ensure the Power Station fulfils its ambition of being a leading London landmark, subsequently boosting the local and wider UK economy.”

Vodafone was named the most reliable network in London, as well as best network for voice in London, based on measurements from the umlaut connect Mobile Network Benchmark in December 2022.
