United Kingdom: Following the popularity of its six months’ free broadband for small businesses offer last year, Vodafone has relaunched the promotion as it continues to provide support for small businesses struggling through the pandemic, even as lockdown restrictions gradually begin to ease.
The six months’ free broadband offer is available on a 24-month contract to new small business customers (1-50 employees) as well as existing customers who are due an upgrade. The promotion ends on 30 April 2021.
Having access to a reliable broadband connection has been essential for small businesses during the pandemic. But cost and reliability have been issues for many small business owners. A recent study conducted by market research firm Bryter and commissioned by Vodafone found:
- 51% of small businesses believe they are paying too much for their broadband;
- 41% of small business owners find their current broadband connection unreliable;
- 32% of small businesses believe their broadband connection isn’t fast enough;
- 13% of small businesses feel their current internet connection is holding their business back.
Anne Sheehan, Business Director, Vodafone UK, said: “While we have a clear roadmap out of lockdown, small businesses are still facing significant challenges. There is still huge uncertainty and money is incredibly tight for many business owners.
“That’s why I’m pleased to be able to relaunch this offer of six months’ free broadband. I hope that with one less bill to worry about, small businesses can focus on more pressing issues.”
Continuing its vital support for small businesses during the pandemic, Vodafone also launched Shout Out for Small Businesses, a new campaign offering small businesses the opportunity to win a bespoke social media marketing campaign on Facebook and Instagram, potentially reaching more than a million people.
Vodafone also launched its V-Hub by Vodafone SME digital support platform to help small businesses develop their digital capabilities as they get back on their feet following the COVID-19 pandemic. Users have access to one-on-one support with a dedicated business adviser, as well as a continually updated online knowledge centre covering topics such as website creation, digital marketing, remote working and cybersecurity.
Once the initial six-month period has passed, the monthly fee will revert to the standard rate of £19.17 (+20% VAT) a month for Business Broadband Superfast 1 and £22.50 (+20% VAT) a month for Business Broadband Superfast 2. There are no upfront fees to pay.
Small business customers who are interested in taking up the six months’ free broadband offer should visit the Vodafone UK website.
