Vodafone has announced multi-year music partnerships with Mighty Hoopla Festival and Kendal Calling, becoming Official Connectivity Partner.

Throughout the partnerships, Vodafone will use its connectivity and the power of 5G to keep music fans connected on site and promote accessibility and inclusion across both festivals.

In the first year, Vodafone will use cutting-edge technology to enable people with disabilities to experience live music like never before, as well as deliver innovative on-site activations to elevate the festival experience. This includes activations at Kendal Calling dedicated to providing support, connectivity and entertainment for families attending the festival.

Vodafone is also offering customers the opportunity to win tickets to both festivals through its VeryMe Rewards programme. Tickets will be up for grabs throughout May and June. Vodafone customers will be able to enter regular Prize Draws and Instant Wins by using the My Vodafone app and tapping on ‘VeryMe’.

Mighty Hoopla Festival embraces the best of pop, fashion and LGBTQ+ culture and is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for its diverse audience. Kendal Calling is a music and arts festival set in the scenic surroundings of the Lake District, with a range of artists and activities providing entertainment for all the family.

Max Taylor, Vodafone Consumer Director, said: “Mighty Hoopla Festival and Kendal Calling have a special place in the British festival calendar, owing to their support for inclusivity and their ambition of creating welcoming festival spaces for everyone. We are excited to be using our connectivity, and harnessing the power of 5G, to deliver an exciting and inclusive experience this summer.”

Jamie Tagg, Festival Director, Mighty Hoopla, said: “Mighty Hoopla is incredibly proud of our reputation as the UK’s most inclusive festival. We are delighted to partner with Vodafone who share the same values around inclusivity in order to take this focus even further. Working with the Vodafone team, we will leverage the latest technologies to make Mighty Hoopla as accessible to as many music fans as possible.”

Andy Smith, Festival Director, Kendal Calling, said: “Each year, thousands of festival goers escape to the Lake District for Kendal Calling, experiencing a brilliant line-up of music, comedy and art. Connectivity has always been a challenge, especially in such a remote location, so we are really proud to be partnering with Vodafone to help elevate our festival experience with tech and network capabilities.

“Kendal has always been an incredibly welcoming space, with new people joining our festival family each year. We’re equally proud to be working with Vodafone to provide new ways for families to enjoy their summers over the course of our partnership.”

These latest partnerships build on Vodafone’s role as Lead Partner for the British & Irish Lions 2021 Tour of South Africa and its new multi-year partnership with Wimbledon and the AELTC as Official Connectivity Partner. Vodafone is proud to unveil a range of exciting partnerships which will see it use its technology to enhance and amplify entertainment experiences and unlock access to some of the summer’s biggest events.
