AI is supercharging phishing – Vodafone Business responds with free expert-led cybersecurity video series

Vodafone Business has launched a new expert-led e-learning course, designed to help small businesses identify and counter the threat of emerging AI-driven phishing scams.

With AI-driven phishing threats becoming harder to detect, this new course gives small businesses the tools they need to stay a step ahead – from deepfakes to voice cloning.

Hosted by renowned cybersecurity expert and ethical hacker, Katie Paxton-Fear, the series is designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) strengthen their digital defences in an increasingly complex cyber environment.

The course focuses on some of the more prevalent forms of AI-driven phishing attacks, including spear phishing, whaling, clone phishing, deep fakes and voice cloning.

This continues a broader campaign that Vodafone Business started last year to raise awareness about the growing threat of AI-driven phishing scams in the business sector.

As a cybersecurity lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, Katie’s expertise spans AI, machine learning and information security.

She also engages a large audience through her YouTube channel, where she educates more than 30,000 followers on critical cybersecurity issues.

Her contributions to cybersecurity include identifying and reporting significant vulnerabilities to major organisations, such as Verizon Media and the US Department of Defence.

In response to the growing sophistication of AI-enhanced cyber threats, this series offers practical insights and hands-on strategies to help SMEs stay ahead of evolving digital risks.

With an increase in AI-driven phishing attacks targeting SMEs, cybersecurity education has become essential. By providing accessible and free cybersecurity education, Vodafone Business continues its mission to empower SMEs and enhance their digital resilience.

Cyberhackers costing UK SMEs £3.4bn a year

To help SMEs provide essential cybersecurity training to staff, Vodafone Business is offering a complimentary one-month trial of CybSafe, a leading human risk management platform.

Vodafone Business research also reveals that more than half (52%) of UK SME employees have not received any cybersecurity training, while nearly a third (32%) of both small and large businesses lack adequate cybersecurity protections.

The content series is now available exclusively on business.connected, a collaborative initiative by Vodafone Business and Enterprise Nation, offering free online courses and resources designed to assist SMEs in expanding within the digital economy.
