Cost-of-living crisis: Vodafone boosts pay for lowest-paid employees

Vodafone announces additional financial support for those hardest hit by rising costs.

The cost-of-living crisis is having a big impact on many people up and down the country.

This is why Vodafone has introduced a series of measures to help its customers – from social tariffs to spend managers, VeryMe rewards to trade-in deals.

But increased prices are also affecting our employees. So Vodafone UK has announced plans to provide additional help for them.

All permanent front-line employees currently earning less that £25,000 will receive a 10% pay rise, which will take effect from 1 November 2022. In addition, anyone earning between £25,000 and £35,000 will receive a one-off payment of £1,000 – to be paid in four monthly instalments – starting at the end of November. This extra support payment will be made available on a pro-rata basis for part-time employees.

We also offer a comprehensive range of tools and benefits to help employees manage their finances, including discounts and savings from a wide range of retailers and service providers, as well as free access to a financial advice and wellbeing service. It is all part of Vodafone’s commitment to fair pay.

Cost of living: Vodafone support for customers

Vodafone has several initiatives to help its UK customers save money during the inflation-driven cost of living crisis.

Ahmed Essam, Vodafone’s UK CEO, said: “Rising prices are affecting everyone. We’ve made bold choices to look after our customers in recent months, and it’s only right that we do the same for our people.

“Giving our lowest-paid staff a permanent 10% pay rise from next month will make a real difference as prices continue to spiral, and we hope the one-off payment of £1,000 will also go some way to help our staff look after themselves and their loved ones during these challenging times.”

Vodafone UK will be unveiling further industry-leading commitments to bolster support for customers and businesses as they deal with the cost-of-living crisis.
