Vodafone Start App

Vodafone Start App terms and conditions from 1 June 2018

This app is provided by Vodafone Sales & Services Limited, Vodafone House, The Connection, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 2FN, a company registered in England (number 6844137).

1. Licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on one device that you own or control for personal, non-commercial use only. There is no charge to you to either download or use this app (save for any applicable data charges referred to in paragraph 3 below).

2. Your responsibilities
You’ll need to check that the app is compatible with your device before you use it.

3. Cost
There are data charges for any data downloaded over the mobile network. The data consumption will form part of your data bundle. Or, if you’re an out-of-bundle user, you’ll be charged at the standard network rates. If you access the app outside the UK then you may incur browsing, downloading and other data charges at the standard data rates for roaming.

4. Exclusion of warranties and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided to you “as is”, without support or maintenance. Neither we nor our licensors warrant that the app will meet your requirements or that the operation of the app will be uninterrupted or error free. To the extent permitted by law, we and our licensors disclaim and exclude all warranties, representations, conditions and other terms of any kind, express or implied, and whether arising by statute, common law or otherwise. In any event, our maximum liability and sole remedy to you is a refund of the price of the app (if any) at the time of your purchase. This clause does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.

5. Your personal information
How we collect and use your information generally is explained in our privacy policy. Vodafone Start will use your personal information to let you know about our similar products and services that are relevant to you. You may choose to opt-out of receiving push notifications, which the app sends to your device. You may still receive in-app notifications or messages about our similar products and services when you launch the Vodafone Start app. The app is designed to work with the services offered by your local operator, part of Vodafone’s global network. We share some information with your Vodafone operator so that we can operate and promote the service.

6. Security
You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access this service and are responsible for any activity using your account, whether or not you authorised that activity. You should immediately notify us of any unauthorised use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend, place a “read-only” restriction upon, archive or terminate anyone’s account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Cause for such action includes: (a) violations of these terms or any other policies or guidelines created for the app; (b) a request by you to cancel or terminate your account; (c) a request and/or order from law enforcement, a judicial body, or other government agency; (d) unexpected technical or security issues or problems; (e) your participation in fraudulent or illegal activities; or (f) failure to pay any fees owed by you.

7. Changing the terms
We reserve the right to revise these terms from time to time and the most current version will always be posted on our website. By continuing to access or use this app after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

8. General
We may transfer our rights and responsibilities to another Vodafone company on notice. We can reveal any information necessary to satisfy any laws, legal process or government request. We may send you notices by email, text, post or on our website. These terms will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales.
