Data on the Go (Mobile Broadband) Pay as you go Terms and Charges (from August 2015 to April 2018)

Our standard price plan charges

We know there will be those times when your data allowance doesn't quite last the whole month. So we think it's a good idea to know beforehand how much you'll have to pay if you want more. The following are our standard charges for using data in the UK or abroad on your tablet, Mobile Wi-Fi device or data dongle.

Data charges in the UK

To use the internet, you'll need a data bundle. You can buy additional data bundles at any time, so when one pack ends the next will start straight away. You can queue up to five data bundles at any one time.

All our data bundles are 4G and last for up to 30 days:

£5 – 250MB of UK data
£10 – 1GB of UK data
£15 – 2GB of UK data
£20 – 3GB of UK data
£25 – 6GB of UK data

Data charges abroad

Your data SIM card may have an international bar which means it won’t work abroad. You'll need to call 191 from a Vodafone mobile or 0333 3048 069 (standard network charges apply) to remove this bar.

We've divided the world into two zones which carry different charges. As the countries included in each zone and their charges change from time to time, please check them before travelling.

Our charges are based on a calendar day and calculated in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Even when you're abroad, they'll be based on GMT rather than the local time.

Text messaging in the UK and abroad

Outgoing text messages are barred. Where your mobile equipment allows, you can receive text messages and notifications at no charge.

Checking your account balance

You can monitor your data usage by going to ‘Current usage’ in My Vodafone. Register for My Vodafone

Please note that this feature is for guidance only, as our billing system may not update instantly.

Content control

If content control prevents you from looking at internet content, you'll still be charged for any data used. You can remove content control online via My Vodafone, or by calling 191 from a Vodafone mobile or 0333 3048 069 (standard network charges apply). Content control will be removed automatically 48 hours after accessing a restricted site, unless you contact us.

General

Top speeds and coverage may vary significantly – find more information about coverage. If you don’t have a '4G Ready' or '4G' bundle, your upload data speed will be limited to 8Mbps and your download data speed limited to 10Mbps.

You can only use your data SIM card in, or connect it to, dongles or mobile equipment authorised for use by us. You can’t use your data SIM card in a phone or in any other mobile equipment which isn’t set out above. If you do, we’ll ask you to stop and in persistent cases, we’ll: a) disconnect you; b) restrict your use or speed; c) charge you for unauthorised use.
