Our standard out of bundle charges

There are bound to be times when you exceed your monthly allowance - so it's a good idea to know beforehand how much you'll have to pay. The following are our standard charges for texting or using data in the UK or abroad. They'll only apply once you've gone over the monthly allowance stated in your welcome letter or email.

Using data on your device

How do you know how much data you've used? You can monitor your data usage by checking the 'dashboard' on your device. If you don't know how, simply select 'help' on the dashboard. We'll send you a notification when you reach 80% of your data allowance.

On Standard and Premium price plans, the charges will apply even if you don't use all of the additional data allowance. If our content control prevents you from looking at mobile internet content you'll still be charged for any data you download.

If you're on an unrestricted data price plan or data bundle, you can use the internet for: a) calls over the internet, b) legally sharing data files or, c) giving other people access to your mobile equipment over the internet. However, if you're on a restricted price plan we will: a) block access to these services, b) restrict performance, or c) charge you for this at the full published rates at vodafone.co.uk. If you want to use a mobile phone as a modem, you'll need to be on a price plan that allows this.

Data and text charges abroad

We've divided the world into zones which carry different charges. As zones and charges change from time to time, please check vodafone.co.uk/goingabroad

Data usage whilst in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands will fall into the standard data roaming rates.

Charges are based on a calendar day and calculated in Greenwich Meantime. Even when you're abroad, they will be based on GMT rather than the local time. For each calendar day's usage (00.00 GMT to 23.59 GMT) you'll be charged £8 in the European Zone or £25 in the Rest of the World for up to 100MB. Roaming is not available to customers on a Mobile Broadband 30-day price plan.

Please note, if Vodafone is charged an admin fee from a foreign network operator for you to receive a text, we'll pass this charge on to you.

General

All our services which are offered as "unlimited" (or similar) must only be used for your personal and non commercial use.

You may only use your Mobile Broadband SIM card in or connect it to, modems, data cards and/or laptops. You may not use your Mobile Broadband SIM card in a handset or in any other device which is not set out above. If you do, we'll ask you to stop and in persistent cases, we will: a) disconnect you, b) restrict your use or speed or c) charge you for unauthorised use.
