  • Musqet developed a new payment system that simplifies high street transactions including new borderless payments

Meet Musqet

Musqet is a UK based payment services business. Founded in 2019, they specialise in helping businesses accept Bitcoin payments, as well as traditional card and e-commerce transactions.

The challenge

High street businesses are facing increased demand for more flexible in -person payment services. In addition, merchants need to process transactions quickly, securely and seamlessly.

In September 2024, Musqet launched a fully integrated debit, credit and contactless point-of-sale terminal that also accepts new and upcoming borderless payment technologies.

To support their plans for European expansion, Musqet needed a network provider that could offer true global roaming. They also needed a provider that could ensure protected and resilient IoT connectivity for all its terminals, even if businesses operate in remote or pop-up locations without fixed connectivity.

The solution

Musqet partnered with Vodafone IoT, giving them network coverage in over 180 countries that already supports over 215 million IoT connections.

Our industry recognised Global Managed IoT Connectivity platform offers connectivity to all Musqet’s payment terminals with secure private access, as well as visibility and management of all its SIMs, wherever they are.

“Thanks to Vodafone IoT, we can connect our payment terminals securely anywhere in the world. This allows Musqet to offer merchants truly borderless, future-ready transactions, whether with traditional cards or emerging digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Stablecoins, giving businesses and consumers alike the payment experience they deserve.”

The benefits

Musqet’s innovative payment system combined with Vodafone IoT connectivity makes in-person, borderless transactions a reality.

Businesses can now accept whatever form of payment that suits them, from traditional payment methods to new and upcoming technologies such as on Bitcoin and Stablecoins. This gives them greater control of their funds and access to new consumer markets.

In addition to improved operational efficiency and greater confidence in the reliability and security of its terminals, Vodafone’s IoT global presence and extensive roaming agreements also allowed Musqet to expand into the rest of Europe.
