Retirement of Secure Net for Business
Learn when this will happen and what it means for you
We will withdraw Secure Net for Business from 31 January 2025.
This will not affect customers who have a different version of Secure Net.
Secure Net for Business is offered as an add-on to your airtime.
It's a network-based security solution that safeguards your devices, including mobile phones and tablets, against viruses, malware, and phishing threats when connected to our mobile data network.
We’re carrying out essential upgrades to our mobile network from 20 January 2025. Due to this, Secure Net for Business will lose the ability to scan files for malware.
Most websites now are hosted with a web address that starts with https, providing a more secure protocol to send data between your web browser and a particular web site.
However, websites that are hosted with a web address that starts with http are not as secure. One of the features of Secure Net for Business was to scan files downloaded from http websites to check they were safe to open.
Due to the upgrades we’re making to our network, this file scanning feature will be lost. As a result, we have decided to retire Secure Net for Business from 31 January 2025.
You’ll be able to use Secure Net for Business until 31 January 2025, but from 20 January 2025 you may find you’ve lost the file scanning feature.
Currently, when you access a mobile http site, a shield icon appears in your browser. When the shield icon is no longer visible on a site, you’ll have lost the feature.
You do not need to do anything to your device, such as backing it up or changing any settings. We would though recommend using a file scanning application to ensure files are safe before you open them on your mobile device.
Our main alternative product is Lookout Mobile Security. It can be purchased by direct Vodafone Business customers, meaning it’s not available through our Indirect Partners.
