Retail and Consumer Price Index adjustments for connectivity services
We’d like to inform you that on 1 April 2023, we’ll be increasing the charges for reoccurring connectivity services for business customers. The price rise is in accordance with the Retail Price Index (RPI) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) rates published by the Office for National Statistics. Annually from 1 April 2023, we will adjust the amount business customers pay to reflect inflation, so we can continue to invest in our networks, products and services.
How does this affect you?
The CPI is a measure of whether the cost of goods and services is going up or down based on average price changes from across several industries. More information is available on the Office for National Statistics website – simply search CPI Office for National Statistics.
The current CPI increase is 14.4% (10.5% + 3.9%).
The RPI is a widely recognised measure of the UK's general level of inflation and is used by many industries as a guide on whether to adjust prices, and by how much. More information is available on the Office for National Statistics website – simply search RPI Office for National Statistics.
The current RPI increase is 13.4%.
While most of this year's increase (10.5%) is linked to inflation, we add an additional 3.9% to customer’s bills to enable us to keep growing and developing the network. This includes investing in bringing our secure and reliable network to more people – including in hard-to-reach locations – and supporting the rollout of full fibre to more places than ever. It also supports us in developing the network as usage continues to grow.
No one wants to see price rises. The increase we’ve announced today reflects the increase we’ve seen in our running costs, with an additional 3.9% to invest in expanding our network coverage, innovate to meet ever-growing demand, and ensure our employees are properly supported in the cost of living crisis.
The price rise is effective from 1 April 2023. Any re-occurring connectivity services invoiced from that date onwards will see an increase.
Other Vodafone Business products will also reflect these price changes. If you need more information about exactly what will change for each of your purchases, please speak to your account manager.
