Cancel your account
We're sorry you're thinking of leaving
Can we change your mind? We've got loads of great benefits, so be sure you're making the most of them:
Things to know before you leave
You must be the account owner to cancel your account or get a PAC or STAC code.
Business customers
If you don't have a specific contact in your business, you can ask us for a PAC or STAC code.
If you have an account manager or prime contact, ask them and they'll do it for you.
If you're a large business customer, your mobile company administrator should be able to get your switching code through Vodafone Corporate Online (VCO)
Log in to your account online or use the My Vodafone app to check when your plan ends. If your plan hasn't ended yet, you'll need to pay an early termination fee (ETF)
Text INFO to 85075 and we'll text you back with the amount you need to pay, as well as what to do if you have other services with us.
If you have more than one number on your account, check the amount in your account online by going to Account settings > mobile switching, or give us a call on 191 free from your Vodafone mobile.
Alternatively, you might be eligible for an upgrade. Log in to your account to view your exclusive upgrade offers on a selection of phone or SIM only plans, just for you.
When we close your account we'll cancel your Direct Debit - please don't do this yourself. This is important because cancelling your direct debit doesn't automatically cancel any contract(s) you have with us, and you'll continue to be charged. If you have cancelled your Direct Debit, please contact us so we can help you.
We'll keep billing you as normal up to and including your disconnection date. You'll get a final bill after you've disconnected, which will include:
If you're not in a contract:
A credit for line rental you've already paid for, but not used
Out-of-plan usage charges
Charges for any Extras (such as a recurring Data Extra)
If you're in a contract:
How much you'll need to pay to leave early (early termination fee)
Out-of-plan usage charges
Charges for any Extras (such as a recurring Data Extra)
When you'll get the final bill
If you switch network at least 22 days before your normal billing date that month, you'll get your final bill on your normal billing date. Please make sure your media and contact preferences are up to date so that you can receive it.
If you switch to another network any later, you'll get your final bill 22 days after you switch.
If you've recently been abroad, it can take up to two months for us to bill you for roaming charges.
If you don't use your PAC or STAC
If you request a PAC or STAC but then don't use it, your plan will continue and you will be billed as normal.
Check your bill after you've left
You can still check your bills up to six months after you've cancelled. You’ll need to set up another contact number
Leaving us for another mobile network might affect any other Vodafone services you're using:
If you’re thinking of leaving Vodafone Pay as you go, or you're in the process of leaving, you can request a refund of any remaining credit and any completely unused bundles up to 60 days after you’ve been disconnected.
If you have a Pay as you go mobile broadband line with us, you can also do that here.
Register for a My Vodafone account first and then request a refund by chatting to our team.
How to leave Vodafone
When you get your PAC code you must give it to your new provider to make the switch happen.
Get your PAC code from us
Chat - use Webchat to speak to us online
Online - log in to your account online, go to Account settings > Mobile switching
Call - free from your Vodafone phone on 191
Text - if you only have one mobile number on your account
Unfortunately if you have more than one number on your account, texting isn't possible - please use one of the other options instead.
If you would like to text us, you'll need to send us your 4-digit account PIN. Delete the message after you've sent it so nobody can see your PIN. Find out how to set up or change your account PIN
Text PAC + PIN - for example, PAC 1234
Remember to include a space between PAC and PIN
Send to: 65075
Give the code to your new provider
When you give the code to your new provider, they'll contact us and start moving your number over. Once they've transferred you, you'll be disconnected from Vodafone straight away.
Your code lasts for 30 days. If you don't use it in that time you'll stay with us and the switch won't happen. You can always ask us for a new code if it expires.
I left Vodafone, but forgot to get a PAC
If it’s been under 30 days since you left, we can still give you the PAC. If you had:
One number on your account – Chat to us online to get your PAC
Multiple numbers on your account – Chat to us online or give us a call on 0333 3040 191 to get your PAC
If it’s been over 30 days since you left, unfortunately we can’t give you a PAC to keep your number.
Remember: Once you’ve given your PAC to your new network provider, it can take until 11:59pm the same day to transfer over. You may also experience a loss of service on that day.
Keep your phone
If you want to take your phone to another network, get a Network Unlock Code (NUC)

PAC and STAC for switching network
There are two switching codes to move from one mobile network to another:
PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) - to keep your phone number
STAC (Service Termination Authorisation Code) - to get a new phone number
It's up to you to give your PAC or STAC code to your new network to make your switch happen.
PAC and STAC codes last for 30 days before they expire, but you can always ask for another one if you run out of time and haven’t left Vodafone yet.
INFO for information about your account
Use the INFO code to find out details of any other services that will be affected if you switch, plus:
Pay monthly account – how much you’ll need to pay to leave your contract today (early termination fee)
Pay as you go account - how much credit you'll lose if you switch
If you don't use your PAC or STAC
If you request a PAC or STAC but then don't use it, your plan will continue and you will be billed as normal.
You can get your PAC or STAC code by chatting to us online, giving us a call free on 191 from your Vodafone mobile, or logging into your account
If you have more than one number, unfortunately you can’t text to switch.
You can set up your account PIN or change it in My Vodafone:
Go to Account settings
Choose Login details
Change your account PIN
You can also do it in the My Vodafone app:
Go to Settings
Then App settings
Choose Login options
Choose Reset your PIN
